A photo of Probert family at Littledean, Gloucestershire in 1925

Members of the Probert family at Littledean in 1925

Courtesy of Scott Probert:

Attached is a picture of my great great grandparents John Probert and his wife Rosina (aka Rosa or Rose) Probert with their children, daughter-in-law and son-in-law. We believe that the picture was taken around 1925 at their house in Redding Lane, Littledean – we’d be interested to know if anyone recognises the house in the background.

From left to right the people pictured are
Ida Probert (6yrs), Beatrice Maud Brown (nee Probert, 31yrs), Albert Brown ( 41yrs), John Probert (57yrs), Leslie Oliver Probert (27yrs), Rose Probert (nee Price, 54yrs), Ivy Rosina Probert (11yrs), Alice Edith Probert (nee Mustoe, 33yrs), Edgar Roy Probert (14yrs).

We would be interested to know whether anyone has any connections or memories of the Probert family; they lived in various locations around the Forest of Dean: Lane End, Coleford (1892), Marsh Lane, West Dean (1901), Mount Pleasant, East Dean (1911), Redding Lane, Littledean (1919). John Probert was a collier and worked at the Lightmare, Cinderford in 1925.
