The postcards were sent by a Mr John Tindall, who lived in Cinderford, to his grandson Archie Button who was born in Cinderford on Dec 31 1890. <\/strong>His mother was Annie Tindall who married Aaron Button.
Unfortunately Annie died in childbirth and is buried in the Baptist Church in Cinderford.
Archie was brought up by his father’s sister in Kent, hence the postcards to Tonbridge. There are some interesting comments on the cards depicting the Crump Meadow and Lightmoor pits about coal prices!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
