This is a picture of my Auntie (Cis) Mrs W O Davies. She was asked to form the Bream Male Voice Choir in 1948 and was a music teacher giving lessons in schools in the Forest of Dean. I’m not sure of the date of the photo but would guess at the late 1940’s or early 1950’s.
As a child I remember visiting her and my uncle Dave in Bream. I think the picture was taken in their front room.

Bream Male Voice Choir was formed after conductor Albert Phipps left Whitecroft Male Voice choir in 1948. Some former members of Whitecroft Male Voice Choir asked Mrs ‘Cis’ Davies (above) if she would help them form a new choir – Bream Male Voice Choir.
