Attached is a photo which was labelled ‘Cherio Party, Lydbrook’. Unfortunately it is undated but judging by the age of my Uncle Stan, I would guess it must be around 1923.

Marjorie Teague married John Phillips, a teacher at Lydbrook Council School, who later became headmaster of Joys Green school. Sometime in the early 1940s, it was Mr Phillips who encouraged me to take up a career in teaching!
