This photo of Landlord John Smith at the window of the Village Inn, Bream, Gloucestershire was taken as the village carnival procession was passing. The procession was on the way to the annual Flower Show on Bream Rugby Ground.

The annual Flower Fruit & Vegetable Show is now Bream Summer Show and the Village Inn is back to it’s traditional name, The Rising Sun.

For several years a carnival was held in conjunction with the Flower Show. A procession formed up at Hang Hill and proceeded up Parkend Road, Bream High Street, New Road and on to the rugby field.
