Part of the bungalow that was occupied by Marion – a teacher at Parkend School – is visible to the right of the Lodge.
I remember it being occupied by a Forestry Commission employee but the family’s name escapes me.
As a matter of interest(?) the bungalow to the right of the lodge I believe was built for the manager at Princess Royal Colliery. In my time that was a Mr Harrison who I believe emigrated to Cyprus. The gardener employed by him was Mr Fred Pearce who lived on Whitecroft Rd. Michael, Mr Harrison’s son went to Bream Infants and was brought to school in Mr Harrison’s rather splendid SS Jaguar.
