The Rising Sun Inn at Moseley Green.
An early photo of the Rising Sun Inn at Moseley Green taken by the Rev. A J Lumbert. This is a glass plate that has been hand-coloured. At first glance today it might seem surprising that a pub was run in such an thinly populated area - but men were once employed at Moseley Green in coal mining and brick making. The railway also passed closed to the pub.
Left: a much later photo taken inside the Rising Sun.
Ivor Ellis wrote: " the inside of the Rising Sun Moseley Green and a Christmas game of domino's".
"From left around table: Mr. Walt Russell, Mrs.Polly Russell, W.G. Morse (landlord), Mr.Les Brown, Mrs. Irene Howell, unknown, Kevin Howell, just in photo with trilby hat Mr. B Preest? ... I don't know the year, but my grandfather W.G.Morse who is in the photo died in 1967. ".
