A photo of an outing for Lydney Bell Ringers

Clive wrote: "... Scanning recent photos into the computer I came across the attached photo of the St. Mary's Church Lydney bell ringers outing in 1962. I am only certain of 2 names on the photo and hope others can fill in the gaps and also where it was taken. 2nd from the left on the back row is Betty Sage, soon to become my wife Betty Berry. In the centre of the front row is Fred Scudamore who was the Captain and at that time was the PC in possibly the Woolaston police station".

Standing at back L-R: 1 Sheila Craddock? , 2 Betty Sage, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 Pete Bayliss,11.
Sitting at front L-R: 1. Ken Winspear (teacher at LGS), 2 (only head visible), 3 Ernest Penn (possibly) Don Townsend, 4 Fred Scudamore, 5,6 , 7 David Rice.

Sheila Berryman added: "... The photo was taken on 23rd June 1962 in Liverpool. The Lydney bell ringers were invited, courtesy of George Cousins who rang in the Ross on Wye district, to join the Hereford Cathedral ringers on their outing and we rang at Eccleston, Cheshire on the way to Liverpool. We then rang at the Cathedral church of Christ and the parish church of Our Lady and St. Nicholas on the pier head in Liverpool and at Ellesmere Salop on the way home"
