A photo of Hill St Railway Crossing with a cinema poster advertising the film "The Titfield Thunderbolt". The film was released in 1953.

Peter Essex added "... This shot interests me for two reasons. Firstly, given the release date of the Titfield Thunderbolt, it predates the wicket gates ("Essex Gates") in memory of my Grampy by the best part of 10 years - he died 1961. But second, I don't think I've ever seen a poster attached to level crossing gates anywhere else. Bearing in mind that the picture house and the level crossing were almost adjacent, I can imagine an unofficial local arrangement".
