This would probably date the photo to 1945, the following details appear on this web site: "The Gaumont-British Junior Club, headed by J. Arthur Rank in his position as head of the Rank Organisation, was the club run by Gaumont cinemas for children on Saturday mornings. Child members were encouraged to attend the cinema every week not only to see the films on offer, such as the GBJC-sponsored Our Club Magazine, but also to participate in group singing, sports and competitions".

Peter Richards added:

Everyone sang ....
"We come along on Saturday morning, greeting everybody with a smile, we come along on Saturday morning knowing that it's all worth while.
As members of the GB club we all intend to be, good citizens when we grow up and champions of the free.
We come along on Saturday morning greeting everybody with a smile, smile , smile"

"I still remember it after all these years!"

If anyone can name some of the children please get in touch and we will construct a key to the photo.

Thanks also to David Long and Kelly Imm.

Keith Kear added: "... From the LHS first adult line from the road 1. woman 2. male 3. male 4. male very dark shirt with tie very smart is 'Squiz' Bayliss".
