Edwin Davies of Lydney, Gloucestershire.

An old photo of Edwi Davies of Lydney

Betty added: "... The attached is an undated photo of my Grandfather Edwin Davies. As with so many relatives I do not know what he did for a living but someone else may recognize vehicle against which he is standing . For many years of his married life he lived in one of the two stone houses on Church Road, just below the Church, the houses that were pulled down when building the Lydney by-pass. During the 2nd world war this house had a store in the front room where her Grandmother Nora used to sell cigarettes and sweets".

David Dowle added: "... The van would appear to be that of F H Hathaway who was a wine and spirit merchant and, possibly a brewer in Lydney at the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries".
