County Cricket played at Lydney - 2.

Four photos of county cricket at Lydney

Top Left:
Sunday league 1968. The match was broadcast live on BBC. The commentary box can be seen in the background.

Top Right:
End of the match. The player carrying the child is the Gloucestershire and South African fast bowler Mike Proctor.
A site visitor added (May 2016) : "The person in the foreground of the picture top right ..., is Keith Powell, ..., who at the time I believe was Chairman of the West Gloucestershire area of Glos. CCC, and thus responsible for organising the County games at Lydney. I remember well as a young boy, helping to lay out the bunting etc., and the huge crowds".

Bottom Right:
Queuing for ice creams (note the infamous Gas-Holder partly obscuring the view of Primrose Hill.)

Bottom Left:
Car parking at Lydney C.C. for John Player 40 over Sunday league match 1968.

Dave Nash added: "... The Sunday league game was Gloucestershire v Northamptonshire on Sunday 28th June 1970".
The scorecard shows that Gloucestershire won the match scoring 184 for 7 while Northants were all out for 126.

However, Rob Thomas added: "... this can not be 1968 OR 1970 as per the update. The production dates of the MK3 Ford Cortina (introduced at the London Motor Show October 1970) in the Ice cream queue picture make it impossible. It is most likely the 1971 or 1972 matches I suggested earlier. For Mk 3 details please see this. Paragraph 7 is the relevant one".
