Sunshine Corner children's service on Cinder Hill, Coleford, Gloucestershire

"... (the photo) was taken in the early 1950's in the Maycrete Hut (now demolished) which was on Cinder Hill, Coleford on the site of the current Medical Centre. The children were gathered each Wednesday evening for a religious service run by the Pentecostal Church. It was known as Sunshine Corner. Full attendance during the winter months gave attendees the benefit of a free trip to Porthcawl by coach in the summer! Simple pleasures!. The prime movers of this meeting were Miss Armstrong and Nurse Johnson (both officials in the Ribena Factory)" - John Ricketts.
