Morris Milk Truck
Photo taken about 1956. Top photo shows Geoff Watkins and the bottom photo shows Arthur Clements behind the wheel of a Morris Commercial flatbed truck used for carrying churns and crates of milk. Arthur worked in Harry Baker’s Dairy, Coalway and Geoff worked weekends.
Graham Taylor added (October 2019): "... I remember being taken around the farms by Harry Baker in this truck in the 1950's to collect milk. I loved seeing the dairy in action, watching the pasturisation, bottle washing, and bottle filling was fascinating. Harry, his wife Rose and their daughter Jean Baker were my cousins. Rose had a sister May Aston who lived nearby ... The photos were taken in front of the dairy - the house to the left was "Beech Villa" ... on Parkend Road opposite to where Parkend Walk is now ... Beech House and Harry Baker's dairy are still standing - and can be seen on google maps ".
