Lynne Childs added (October 2015): "... My father was killed in the last pit accident in Northern United in 1963. His name was Bill Powell. I would be interested in seeing any photographs that people may have of the miners that worked there during the late 50's early 60's".

Ian Rigby added (March 2017): "... Does anyone recollect a manager at Northern United Colliery named Edward Gerrard? I am looking into the possibility that he is the same Edward Gerrard, from Hindley, who played football for Preston North End. Thanks"
