Moses Boey of Cinderford, Gloucestershire.

This photo was taken from an undated newspaper cutting about Moses Boey.
A Moses Boey (born 1833 at Old Sodbury, Glos) died in 1913 and his wife was the Toll Keeper at Bilson Turnpike in 1881 (source FindMyPast)
- so the newspaper cutting below is almost certainly from 1913.
The newspaper article sheds some light on the origin of the place name Boey's Pike.
Amanda Powys added: "... How very interesting the newspaper article was! I wish I could find it on the newspaper searches on Find My Past.... I believe the W. Kear mentioned as an early district postman with Moses Boey in the article is William Kear 1820 -1879. He was born in East Dean and described on the 1861 census -source Ancestry- as a 'Letter Carrier & shop keeper. ' On Find My Past 1851 William Kear is a Grocer & Draper Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England".
