John Howells, crown woodman of Serridge Lodge, Gloucestershire.

Paul wrote: "Please find attached a picture of my great grandfathers brother, John Howells, crown woodsman from Serridge Lodge".
"Born at Russells Lodge on August 6th 1852 to Thomas Howells and Ann Darby and died on August 26th 1902. Married Eliza Ann Case on May 11th 1878 in Cinderford, they had 11 children over 17 years".
John Howells added: "He is my great grandfather and my dad and son are both Tom. Strange how names stay in the family. Stephen Howells buried at (English) Bicknor is the furthest I could go back. Would like to know any information before that ...".
Rob Howells added: "... Very interesting photograph of John Howells who, I think, was the brother of my great grandfather Stephen Howells 1859 - 1918. I’d be grateful for any more information on the Howells family as John’s generation is quite confusing. It seems his father Thomas may have had a second wife, Eliza Childs, with whom he had seven more children".
Paul Cross added (June 2018): "... I am fortunate enough to have Stephen Howells family journal with all the births etc. I have a picture of his grandson Stephen born in 1859 with his wife Kate Miles and copies of the family journal going way back with second marriage of Thomas as well. "
Rob Howells added (November 2018): "... Is it possible to provide more information from the journal? I have Hagar Jones as the wife of Stephen Howells (1859). Is it possible he is a cousin of Stephen Howells (also born in 1859) who's wife was Kate Miles? ".
