Peter Essex added: "... There are three names I recognise among the Springfield Ladies from the pdf programme. Vera Cox is probably a lady who lived at 40 Forest Road Lydney next door to my grandparents Frank Essex and Frances nee Sterrey who were themselves stalwarts at Springfield Methodist Church. Margaret Higgins will be my father's cousin Margaret nee Virgo who grew up in Fairfield Road and still lives in Lydney. Her mother was a Sterrey. Margaret used to recite poems as well as singing. Hazel Sterry may well be Hazel nee Green who married Leonard Cecil Sterry in 1954. There are many Sterrys still in and around Lydney, but only one left who spells it 'Sterrey.'"
