I suspect that the photo contains a member of the Batten family: Thomas Reginald ("Reg") - born 1892, Mary Maude ("Maude") born 1893, Caroline Mabel ("Carry") born 1899 or James Thomas Albert ("Tom") born 1901. If the children are aged 5 - 10 this would date the photo between 1897 and 1911.

This photo is dated "c1902-1903" in Ian Hendy's book "Meet at the Schools" (Lightmoor Press, 2007). - GKD

Robert Hepler added (November 2018): "... My family roots include the Nelmes of Lydney and Bream. Frank and Percy (twin brothers, the latter my Great-Grandfather) attended the school until emigration to the US in 1911. Born in 1899, I have a picture of them from ~1904/5, and the two boys in the top, left corner of this picture appear to be them. This would help corroborate the estimated timing of this photo from other comments.
