Note the Jubilee Pool just beyond and to the right of the horse. A building formerly used by Bream Home Gaurd reputably to hold ammunition stood just beyond the horse. Only the base of this building, measuring approx. 5m x 3m was evident in the early 1960's.

Also present in the 1960's and 1970's was a small clay lined pool about 2m in diameter and approx. 0.5m deep.This was the last remnant of Jubilee Pool. This small pool was known locally as the "Pig's Pool" as a few pigs owned by a local man, Mr Teale, were allowed to roam on this land. The pigs would roll and wallow in the clay in the hot weather.

A further smaller muddy pool remained in the 1960's and 1970's just beyond the pig's pool. This clay was dug for the purpose of making pottery on at least one occasion by Mr Peter Saysell and his pupils. Mr Saysell was a teacher at Bream Secondary Modern school and also had a studio and pottery opposite the school in the building at Blue Rock Crescent, now occupied by Farmer and Clark. Mr Saysell made the large ceramic designs which decorate the side of the Shire Hall building in Gloucester. These large designs were on display in the studio before being taken to Gloucester.

The gallery entrance was used as a bus shelter in the 1960's by pupils waiting for the bus to take them to Lydney Grammar School.

Another local man Mr Perce James, a genuine forest "sheep badger" ran his sheep on this land. Mr James did not drive a car and like all genuine sheep badgers looked after his sheep on foot. The pottery mentioned above, is currently occupied by Phyllis Lewis. On display in the gallery is a collection of figures and scenes depicting everyday local life from the 1940's onwards based upon Phyllis's own recollections. This fine collection includes a model of Mr Perce James carrying one of his sheep on his back.
