Thanks also to Sharon Wood (nee Pitcher) for adding (June 2007): "Mr Pitcher was my Grandfather, who was married to Nellie (nee Jones, daughter of Arthur Jones). They had five children, William (who was one of a twin but the other brother or sister died) Frazer, Molly (who married Ruben Edmunds) and the youngest my father Colston, better known to all as "Coey". This photo would have been pre 1925 as this was when my father was born and by this time the family lived in a cottage in Landsdown Walk, later moving to "Roseville" in Woodside (now known as High View Way) My Grandfather as well as being Landlord at the Oakwood Mill also worked down the pit, we have a framed certificate from the Coal Board for him serving 50 years under ground and after this time he was found work on the surface until he retired".
