The photo was taken around 1930 it shows Mr. Hancocks in the trilby hat, and alongside him Ivor Meek, the picture was taken in front of the Hancocks recently delivered new lorry.
The people referred to on the signwriting are :

D.M. - Dorothy May Hancocks, J.H. - Jesse Harold Hancocks, at the time the photo was taken this was a husband and wife partnership.

Later it became;
J.H. and D.J. (Douglas John) a father and son partnership.

Finally it became;
D.J. Hancocks and Son, Coal Merchants, New Road, Bream.
