Eileen Bannister wrote in the "Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Review of w/e 25/2/2011 "... I was delighted to see my late father Mr Norris ... My father taught at the school from 1930 until 1948/49 when it became a Mixed School. My mother recalls that prior to their marriage in 1937 when they lived at 'Oakleigh' in Bream High Street (next to the then chemist's shop) my father lodged with a Mr Davies another member of the school staff. She also remembers another teacher called Miss Doris Worgan ..."
