Robert wrote: "... if you look very closely, I am in army uniform.I was on leave, 5th March for 10 days, had only been in (the army) for 3 months. No digger trucks then, only men with shovels. I had to walk to the Lydney Junction as no buses were running after 10 days. I was a motor mechanic class 3 at the time stationed at Ashchurch. I have cropped us couple, Nora Phipps, Mary Hodges, Myself, And another. Peg must have taken it on a old camera, would have been developed professionally. It takes 3- 1/4 by 2 - 1/4 inches. that's the 1942 lot. If you look you can see the badge on my cap".
