Kevin Burke added (May 2008): "When I was a small boy (circa 1959/60 , I used to have to go and fetch cider in a stone jar for old Harry Jeffery who is in the photo. He could no longer manage the short walk due to his black lung. We lived just up the hill from the pub at Yorkley (Bunnies) Wood, and the locals referred to it then as Gannon's, so we may assume that Gannon was the landlord"

Mrs P Box (nee Gannon daughter of Landlord) added (June 2016): "... The unnamed No. 10, I believe to be Mr.Jim Phipps who relocated from the Midlands to work at the Whitecroft Pin Factory. He and his wife Nora lived in a cottage close the the Royal Forester Inn".

Note: in "The Pubs of the Forest of Dean" by Heather Hurley (2004) this pub is listed as the "Royal Forester"..
