The playing Fields were opened by Clifton Aldridge on 4 July 1959.
L-R: Bert Morgan, Ivo Large, the middle two men were from the coal board then Jim Clements, Ken Elsmore.
An article from The Citizen of 7th August 1933 about a show at Whitecroft in aid of the Whitecroft Memorial Hall playing field proposal fund.
The show comprised a band contest, eisteddfod and flower show at Whitecroft.
