An anniversary at Whitecroft Methodist Chapel in 1936.

Whitecroft Methodist Chapel, 1936
A Sunday School Anniversary Photo from 1936.
Peter Essex added (Mar 2009): "Whatever year it
was, the photo was probably taken around Pentecost (Whitsun) as all but one
of the hymn numbers on the hymn board are from the "Holy Spirit" section
of the old Methodist Hymn Book (1933)".
"Although I do not recognise the Minister in the photo, I do remember (and
this could be relevant to the earlier photo of the congregation in these
postings) when growing up in London in the early 1950s that there was a
retired Minister living locally by the name of the Revd W Bertrand Smith,
who had been stationed at Whitecroft at some stage".
Paul Morgan sent in the following (taken from a newspaper cutting): "This is Whitecroft Methodist Church Sunday School in 1936. The names were supplied in a newspaper article by Mr Ron Aldridge.
