They lived in Lydney all their married life, William having been born in Crickhowell and Alice in Herefordshire. For the first part of the 20th century, they lived at Cross Hands, and finally at Fairfield Road, Lydney. William worked for the Railway. He died in 1939 and Alice in 1943. They had 4 daughters, one of whom, Florence, married Harold Webb, who was the son of William Webb, who for a time was a Baker/Confectioner in the High Street, Lydney (c. 1890s - 1905). Harold and Florence were my grandparents".
