Anne Dobbs (nee McOwan) added (August 2006) "Daisy Hughes is the girl in the trolley pushed by her sister Lillian The man on the stool is Jacob Hughes (father) next to his son, Harold. The woman sat by water butt is Clara Hughes (mother), son is Esau on her knee. Factory Cottages were by Pidcocks Canal (iron ore from the Forge to the Docks). Daisy was my grandmother."
Daisy was born in 1898, dating this photo close to 1900.

Diana White added (Nov 2008): "My grandmother was Gwendoline Lewis and her family lived at the back of Factory Cottages. She would have been 5 when this picture was taken as she was born in 1895. Her mother was Kate Lewis (nee Blower) and came from Bream".

Joan Derham added (Jan 2015): "... My grandparents lived at Factory cottages later than this photo. I would love to see any later photos ,they left there in the late 1950s".

Diana furher added (July 2017): "... My husband and myself visited this site 10 years ago. We knew the houses had been pulled down. We revisited this site about a month ago and see that it has been built on now with town houses. The small river/canal is still there and the lane that runs behind the houses. My Grandmother and family the Lewis family are as I have stated before on here the family at the far end. Apparently they had a pig in the garden!! we were rather sad to see it all gone and built on".
