A Woolaston Shrimp Fisherman.

Another superb photo from Robert Smith. This one shows Dave Thompson, a Woolaston Shimp fisherman standing outside his cottage at Woolaston Common, bordering Common Wood. His children would travel many miles to sell the shrimps from a bucket.
Jacqueline Lewis (nee Tyler) added (September 2017): "... As a child in the 1940s I can remember shrimps being delivered around the village by a man on bike. The shrimps were in buckets on the handlebars and were doled out (if I remember rightly) in metal measures. The shrimps were quite small and it was a labour of love to hud them but the result was worth the trouble as they were delicious!".
