A group of 7 Lydney Tinplate workers.
Avril Smith added (January 2011): "I think the gentleman on the back row far right is my Grandfather Ernest Bayliss".
Rex Brice added (May 2011): "... Top left is Percy Brice".
The names of these men as listed in "The Tinplaters of Lydney and Lydbrook" (pg 52) are:
White annealing crew 1930's:
Perce Brice, Jim Hayward, Anty Jones, E Bayliss,
Stan Wright, Tommy Williams, Sammy Stone.
The jar contains oatmeal in water to allay the effects of cramp. Taken outside the furnaces by E. Bayliss.
