Lydney Junior Dance Team 1961

Adrian wrote (June 2010): "... This team danced in a folk festival at the Albert Hall in 1961. People in the picture are:-
Back. Geoffrey George, Trevor Brown, Glyn Davis, Ken Damsell, Paul Howells, Adrian Goss.
Front. Heather Geddis, Katy Laycock, Astrid Thomas, Julia Davey, Maureen Reeves, Caroline Owen.
Where are they now ?"

Dave Nash added (June 2010): "... Geoffrey George has performed for the G.S.K retired staff at a couple of social evenings at Milkwall club. He sings a variety of songs and tells a few jokes and he has performed as far afield as Torquay where his performance was recorded on a C.D."

John Bunker added (June 2010): "... Astrid Thomas lived in the last house in Regent Street side-on to the Rugby Ground. We lived at 13. ... Her parents were Bill who worked at the (Whitecroft) Pin Factory and Rosemary".

Derek Beard added (April 2025): ".. I was in the team originally selected however when my class teacher Miss Harrison, one of two teacher sisters, became frustrated with my stammering she gave me an ultimatum - stand up in front of the whole class and say my name or she would remove me from the team ! I tried unsuccessfully, shaking but not crying. She carried out her threat! I still stutter but at 75 years old can cope much better -pretty sure I couldn't do the dance anymore - and yes I wonder which of the 6 lads, in the photo, all of whom I remember well, had my place?

Adrian Voss added (September 2025);"... I posted the picture, I wondered where they all are now. I see Geoff george from time to time. Sorry BB for not making it".
