Mr Luker of Whitecroft, Fish Salesman.

Mr Luker of Whitecroft pictured with his fish delivery cart. The sign says H C LUKER, FISH SALESMAN, WHITECROFT.
Paul Morgan adds : I believe it is Henry Charles Luker my Great Grandfather
who was a fish salesman in Whitecroft.
My great Uncle also Henry Luker (known as Harry) ran the Fish and Chip shop on Park Hill. Now known as Ray's Chippy.
Paul also added (Aug 2006): "The horse's name was Topsy. Henry Luker
was renowned for liking a drink and
so long as he made it onto the cart a cry of 'Home Topsy' would
see
the horse deliver him home".
Malcolm Harrison added (August 2012): "... I believe the man in the photo may be my great Uncle. My Grandfather was Frederick Luker and he came from Whitecroft. He moved to Bristol and married my Grandmothe Edith Maud Luker. I have recently retired to The Forest and would like to learn more of the history of my Forest Family. If anyone has any further information on The Lukers of Whitecroft please get in touch".
