This is a photo of a Lydney Grammar School summer camp from the 1950s.
The first LGS camp was held in 1935 at SeaTown in Dorest, a tradition instigated
by Headmaster J C Burch.
The camp was held at Saundersfoot from 1954 until 1962 on a site prone to flooding.
The Saundersfoot camps were held at Whitlow Farm. This farm has now been built
upon.
In 1963 the camp moved to Charmouth in Dorset for its final years
Thanks also to Brain James and John V Ralph.
