LGS outings

Bill wrote: "The larger photograph (bottom right), and the two smaller ones, were taken on a school outing to the Roman Villas at Caerleon and Caerwent, probably in 1959".

"On the larger photo (bottom right), from left to right, are George Merrit, Andrew Jenkins, John Guest and Dick James. (Bill Stump, who took the photo, was reunited with Dick James in Honiara, Solomon Islands in July 1978. Dick was there as Chief Fisheries Officer, and Bill was posted there as Deputy British High Commisioner.

"The photo (top left) of LGS sixth formers training for the annual swimming gala was taken at the Bathurst Pool on a Saturday in 1960.
From left to right,
back row, are: Bob Stump, Bill Stump, Gary Edwards, Chris Bayliss, and AN Other.
in the front is Robert Phillips".

Neville Slee added: "... The unknown in photo bottom right looks remarkably like Andy Jenkyns who is also in front on photo bottom left. Bill doesnt mention photo top right taken down at Lydney docks by the look of it but could be on other side of river as the Stumps came from Berkeley".

Joyce Baxter added: "... I think the boy in the front of the top right photo is Robert Phillips... also have to agree with Neville that the unknown boy could be Andrew Jenkins".
