Lydney Welsh Society, St David's Day Dinner, 1938.

March 1st 1938 in the Feathers Hotel Lydney.
Eira wrote: "... My father, Brinley Jones, was Bank Manager of Barclays in Lydney from 1935 - 1941 until Barclays closed the Lydney branch as a result of staff shortages. I attended Miss Thorne's little private school behind the Baptist Chapel during the early years of the war before moving back to the Swansea area where I had been born. My husband has been delving into the family history and came across a picture on your excellent website of my father and the other members of the Committee arranging the 1938 St David's day dinner. We have the attached picture in our records of the guests at that dinner and thought you might like to have this to include on the website. It has so many local people in it and doubtless local families will be able to recognise a number of them. My mother and father, Ada and Brinley Jones, are seated on the bottom rhs of the picture".
