The Pritchard family of Lydney, Gloucestershire.

Pritchard, Lydney

Peter wrote: "This is an enhancement by Roger Dennis from an album found at a house in Forest Road, Lydney, soon after the death of my grandmother Frances Essex nee Sterrey in 1957. "It shows Samuel James Cole Pritchard (1851-1928) with his wife Jane Catherine nee Polley and we think their daughter known as Daisy. This photo can therefore be dated to the mid to late 1920s. "The location is probably the rear of 2-4 Oxford Street Lydney which were both occupied by Pritchards, Sam having resided at No. 4 when he died. He was the eldest of numerous siblings who included my great-grandmother Clara Ann Sterrey nee Pritchard and Roger's great-grandfather John Frederick Pritchard. "John Frederick can be seen as father of the groom at Bream page 1 - People - Blistors wedding 1919. Clara can be seen as mother of the groom at Lydney page 2 - People - Essex-Sterry."

Roger Dennis added: "... Just as an interesting aside ... Jane Catherine Pritchard, nee Polley was a first cousin of Mary Emily Pritchard, nee Thomas the mother of the groom in the Blistors Wedding upload. So first cousins had married brothers".
