John wrote: "... On this occasion, the Cessnia 172 belonging to Watts Tyres, was about to take us to an air show at Cranfield, Bedfordshire.

Note also the plane's markings.

Margaret Fuller added (September 2023): "... I don't think this is John Thurston in this photo but Lawrence Watts, son of Cecil Watts who flew this aircraft".
