These photos go side by side and are of a children's Christmas Party held in the Hall of old Church Road Infants School, Lydney in about 1950 and organised by the Women's Section, Royal British Legion, Lydney. In photo 2, I am seated the first on the left behind the row of girls with my daughter Gill.

Ann (nee Slee) added: "In Photo 1 the boy seated front row second from left is Neville Slee".

R.Trotman added (April 2013): "... On the front row 3rd from the left next to Neville Slee is Brian Jonesjust above him the lady in glasses is Mrs Nancy Goulding holding her daughter Judith".

Derek Tidmarsh added (April 2021): "... The lady with glasses sat down second from the right is my aunt SOPHIA WILLIS. Her husband was John (Jack) Willis the well known Family Butcher of 1950-1970 based in Martins the Butchers in Church Road near The Cross, He also played rugby for Lydney and Gloucestershire".

Roy Trotman added (April 2013): "... Photo no.2..The lady on the left hand side holding a small child is Mrs Darters who is holding her her grandson Michael and the lady to her left is Murtle Jones her daughter".
