1 , 2 Charles Ernest Wintle of Pillowell, 3 , 4 , 5 John Bartlett , 6 , 7, 8 , 9.

Guessing Charles's age as 20 would date the photo to 1912.

The crossing in Hill St, Lydney is still used by the Dean Forest Railway. The photographer was looking towards Whitecroft.

Thanks also to David Bartlett who added (August 2008): "John Bartlett lived at 67, Tutnalls St, Lydney. He was my grandfather".

Keith Durbin added (August 2010): "... My Grandfather William Durbin was the signalman in the Lydney Town signal box for 40 years and lived in 2 Railway Terrace. He retired About1940".
