Barges on the riverbank at Lydney, Gloucestershire.

Barges beached as break-waters on the banks of the river Severn at Lydney.
A site visitor correctly added: "These weren't just beached - they
were filled with boulders. Unless you watch the Severn tide come in you do
not realise how powerful and swift it can be. It makes an eerie noise. As
kids we spent hours clambering over these barges in the 50's".
Paul has prepared a talk on the hulks that were once at Lydney entitled "Lydney's Lost Fleet, The Lydney Ships Graveyard".
