This photo of a Lydney choir was taken in the late 1940s or early 50s, probably in Lydney Town Hall.
Row 4: Back row 1,2,3,4,5, 6 Fred George, 7.
Row 3 (row of men standing- 1st man in glasses) 1,2,3,4,5,6 Sid Ellis.
Row 2 (all standing - start behind piano) 1,2,3 Dawn, 4 , 5 Mrs Lillian Beverstock, 6 Phyllis Cowles, 7,8,9,10 Annie Hopkins, 11,12,13 (lady front standing far right), 14 George Edwards..
Row 1: (front row, all those seated -including those seated behind) L-R 1,2, 3 Verdie Bartlett, 4 Margaret Mudway, 5,6,7,8,9,10,11, 12 13 Mrs Ann Mills (Ann Beverstock).
Thanks also to Della Leslie who added (May 2009): "... the last lady sitting in the front row to the right as you look at the picture is Mrs Ann Mills (Ann Beverstock) She became a member of the Lydcroft Singers'".
Della wrote (February 2011) "... the lady fifth from the left as you look at the picture in the first row standing behind the piano is Mrs Lillian Beverstock my grand mother and mother to Ann Mills also in the chior. The lady 3rd from the right in the 3rd row looks like Annie Hopkins my great grand mother. First row 3rd left from the piano is Dawn next to her is Margaret Mudway, both of these ladies went on to become members of the Lydcroft singers I believe along with mum Ann Mills ".
