Lucy and Tom Collins of Lydney, Gloucestershire.
Jo wrote (August 2008): "Lucy and Tom Collins, parents of Arthur, lived at 29, Mount Pleasant, Lydney. I believe Tom worked at the Lydney Tin Works. An old undated newspaper cutting headed THE OLD BRIGADE, read as follows - During the Lydney rugby games, I had a chat with many old players. One was Tom Collins ('Wacker'), who captained Lydney "A" in 1905-6. He started playing for the club over 50 years ago in 1896. He told me that it was the first time he had sat in Regent Street grandstand although he has always been a keen follower of the club. Perhaps, like many old players whom you will see week after week he prefers the 'popular' side of the ground. I always enjoy a chat with the old brigade and you always hear 'you should've seen old so and so in such and such a match'. It would do the present day players good to take advice from many of these old timers".
