Harry added (Nov 2006): "It was taken in the the winter of 1962 / 1963 and is when the Wye was frozen over and this photo is of the bridge between the old cable works
at Lower Lydbrook and the welsh side of the Wye at Welsh Bicknor".

An anonymous contributor added (Dec 2007): "This picture was taken between the second and the eighth of January (1963)".

Jay Mason added (December 2011): "... I have also heard that when the wye had frozen over a horse and cart was driven down there from Bishopswood to The Balsk Bridge".
