Lydbrook defeated five clubs to win their way through to the first round proper of the F.A. Amateur Cup. Here they were drawn against Westbury United from the Wiltshire Senior League. Westbury United had three times previously won their way through to this stage of the competition and they were once again in contention for Wiltshire League honours.
Despite their opponent's record Lydbrook were unmoved and in front of nearly 2,000 spectators they defeated the Wiltshire side 2-1.
