The last coach FWL 638 which was new in 1937, bought by Edwards in 1953 and sold in 1959. It had a Weyman bus bodywork but was rebodied with Duple C33F which is shown in photo. This information came from Fleet Histories of selected Independent Operators Gloucestershire and Forest of Dean areas. Published in 2005"
Bottom right: Pete remembers going to school at Berry Hill on this one (DRN 289).
Alan Watkins added: "... DRN in the bottom right photograph was one of a number of former Ribble Leyland Titans that Edwards used for works contracts. The former Red & White Albion was very typical of Edwards fleet in the fifties and sixties. Many of them were broken up on the forecourt of the depot, and the first we enthusiasts would know that a tried and tested bus had gone to the great scrap heap in the sky was the discovery of a radiator - and its registration plate. I used to go to school in Gloucester and Edwards would regularly provide neat secondhand coaches to take us on school trips. Later I regularly travelled with "Duke" Bevan as driver on Gloucester RFC trips all over the country".
