Local men on their way to vote at Ellwood School in the 1950s. The shadow of the school roadside barrier can be seen on the ground.

Matt Hoare, the owner of the pony and cart, was the finder of a the Neolithic axehead mentioned in "Archaeology in Dean" by Cyril Hart.

John Belcher added that this was the 1945 general election.
