Alan added: "... This photo of my Father Sam Evans was taken possibly 1930 outside the garage in Gloucester Rd Coleford, the garage at that time was owned by the Mansfield family. Dad raced at many venues including Pendine sands and Brooklands".
"Another photo of my father Sam Evans who was proprietor of Forest of Dean Park Garage in Gloucester Rd, Coleford. He raced for Cottons in 1920,s and early 30's .This photo was taken in Newland St Coleford in 1925".
Robert Smith added (Jan 2010): "I was the petrol pump boy at the Gloucester Road Garage in the early 1970s and Mr Sam Evans was a lovely old fella then who was always well turned out in a shirt and tie, a warehouseman's coat and usually his trilby hat. I was scrambling motorcycles in those days and he was always hapy to tell his wonderful memories of his racing days....... ".
