The Home Guard in Coleford, Gloucestershire.

Coleford Home Guard

Geoff wrote (April 2008): "... this photo shows my Dad (Ken Wells) who was home on leave from the RAF and helped the local Home Guard 'pad out' their parade. Not a wise thing for a service man to do in war time, especially when it was in the local paper! It was in held in Coleford centre for War Weapons Week in May 1941".

Geoff Watkins added (April 2008): "I was told that Albert Head was the officer in charge of Coleford Home Guard. He owned a tailoring business in Coleford and was an officer in WW1. After WW2 he ran the Army Cadets".
