Amanda Ashley-Smith added (Feb 2025): "... It was fascinating to read about the Smith family of Mailscott Lodge and Speech House. I am trying to learn more about my earlier Smith ancestors in land adjoining English Bicknor and in Uley. Henry Smith married Hannah Stephens, and one of their children was Nathaniel Smith (b. 1825). If anyone has any information on these earlier Smiths, I would be most grateful to find out more".
